Out of the box my C-1208DS transmits and receives from 144 to 146Mhz and receives from 430 to 440 Mhz.
After doing a full reset (pressing 0/func while switching on, then setting Reset-mode to AL with 2/down or 3/up
then resetting it with c/sql), the transceiver 

But there it is even more possible:
1. The fan from the black box shows to you
2. Open the 4 screws of the black box and remove the cover
3. Locate the main processor. It is between the microphone and the external speaker connector
4. Behind the processor there are 7 solder pads
5. The left 3 are diodes and have nothing to do with this, then there are 2 empty ones and 2 with 0 Ohm resistors.
    (Check this before you go further)
6. Remove these resistors
7. Make a full reset

After this procedure I have the transceiver

You can go even further in the frequency but a blinking display shows a non locking PLL. I found this out by "try and error"
